You can relate to his struggles with school and teenage life, but then he's his own person, too.Mark A. He is complex and his relationship with others is realistic, which grounds the book, immerses the reader, and makes the book so much more interesting. Jason was at a relatable age to the reader, and I especially liked him. There is also a bit of fantasy and excitement that makes you want to keep reading, too. The combination of the action and Jason's conflict with his father and others kept me hooked from page one. When you get back to the present, the story is already in full suspense and you don't know what will happen next. The intensity starts with a flashback to grab the reader's attention and let readers know how he got where he is. During a routine training exercise he is swept into action and Jason must act to save the world from doom.Īs a fan of action and spy books, I enjoyed Fledgling.
